The Find: A Moody Floral Dress

May 3, 2022

Earlier this spring, I bought a handful of dresses for a special occasion.  All of them went back, except one.  A dress that could be worn spring, fall and winter.  It’s a showstopper.

This Maggy London Long Sleeve Midi dress comes in a lovely dark green floral.  There is a small cut-out in the upper back and a fantastic velvet ribbon tie at the neck.  The material is stretchy and comfortable, and the a-line shape is very flattering.

The sizing is just a hair large.  If you are more triangle or apple shaped, I would suggest taking your regular size first, because the torso is a bit fitted.  If you’re pear shaped, you might want to size down.  Sizing runs 0-16, petite 2-14.

If you’re looking for affordable spring dresses, Maggy London is a great brand.  This shirred hem flounce dress is also a nice piece.  I also love this white embellished cap sleeve dress (perfect for a Derby party).  Maggy London also offers a plus-size line.  This dress is pretty great.

Love this dress!!! I’m on the fence bc it’s dry clean only. Will be thinking it over a bit and then decide. The Karen Kane one in your other post is washable but has a different look.

I love this, but I’m not sure it will work with my 32F bust. Thoughts?

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
