You Have, You Need: A White Blazer

Apr 4, 2022

Let’s revive a favorite feature: You Have, You Need.  Since it has been a while, this feature takes a staple piece that most of us own and shows you four pieces that you can add to your wardrobe to give it new life.  Because a great basic shouldn’t go stale because you’re out of ideas for how to wear it.

The Blazer. This white tweed blazer from Ann Taylor is a great option.  The texture on the blazer is very chic, and the shape is sleek for work or weekend.  Sizing run 00-18.  Also, the price is a medium range, but it’s AT, so a sale is probably coming.

This crisp, all-white blazer from Halogen is also a great look (also in petite).  Want something a bit different?  The puff-sleeves on this Lucy Paris jacket are nice accent.  Need something under-$100?  This gold button blazer from Amazon is fab.  Plus-size?  This Kasper blazer runs up to size 24.

As for my favorite ivory blouse, this blazer from Banana Republic is on heavy rotation in my closet.  It isn’t every day that you buy something and it’s worth every.single.penny.  The blazer also comes in tall and petite.

You Need, No. One. The look of a graphic tee and casual jeans with a white blazer is relaxed by cool.  This graphic tee from Etsy has a fresh citrus print that is a lot of fun.  These tees from Unfortunate Portrait are very trendy right now.  Or snap up this Troop Beverly Hills tee.

Boyfriend jeans are on the wishlist for spring/summer.  The Kut from the Kloth pair are discounted, and have great style.  Like the distressed look?  Try this pair.  Plus-size?  These Silver jeans are nice (and giving me a 90s flashback).

You Need, No. Two. Looking for a work look that can lift any pair of trousers or a pencil skirt?  Try a white blazer with a satin top. The satin gives you a little extra elegance.  This top from St. John is a great piece.  For something more affordable, try this top from TJ Maxx or this v-neck one from Alfani.  Plus-size?  This camisole top from J.Crew is a great option.

How chic are these pearl earrings from Kate Spade?  I love that the floral design is still modern.  Looking for something simpler?  Adina’s Jewels has a dainty pair of studs.  Looking for something under-$25?  These Pavoi earrings look much more expensive in person than their price range would suggest.

How do you like to style your white blazer?  Leave your best suggestions in the comments.

I like the white blazer with jeans. For work I usually do white blazer, black dress and tan/cognac shoes & accessories plus gold jewelry.
