A Week of Tops: The Best of Mango

Dec 13, 2021

I knew my wardrobe wasn’t ready to go back to the office, but I didn’t know just how unprepared it was.  The last two weeks have proven that I do not own enough tops to keep my looks fresh.  Many of my previous work horses no longer fit.  Others are showing their age.  And it’s time to restock my selection of shirts, blouses, and assorted tops.

My goal is to get to ten tops that fit, look good, and can be used to make multiple outfits.  (Right now, I have four.)  10 is a good number because even if I need to wear one every day, I’m still rotating on a two week schedule.  Often enough to re-wear pieces, not so often that anyone will notice or I’ll get bored.

So this week, I’m going to share a few of my favorite tops from the brands and retailers that can help me refresh my wardrobe without sending me into hock.  Let’s start with Mango.  Every blouse is under-$100.

I’ve been looking for blouses here in Spokane, but it is hard to find anything that does not have puffy sleeves, voluminous amounts of fabric or ruffles that overwhelm my petite five foot frame. Are you able to offer any suggestions? I’d love to have a one or two blouses to wear under a blazer or cardigan.

hear you on the puffed sleeve front; I’m also 5’0 and it’s NOT a good look for us, and hard to avoid since it’s a trend that’s everywhere right now!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
