Happy Hour: A Warm Apple Cider Cocktail

Nov 19, 2021

It has been a wintry mix of snow and rain at my house recently.  Usually, I don’t mind winter (it’s a part of nature, after all), but this time, I am not ready.  Hopefully, a warm, comforting cocktail can get me in better spirits.

This Honey Bourbon Apple Cider cocktail comes to us from Hello Glow.  You warm cider, apples and spices in a pan, and then, add Bourbon.  This time of year, many grocers have fresh apple cider for sale, but Martinelli’s is also a good choice.  And while she serves this drink in tumblers, I would use our double-walled clear coffee cups so I could make it a little warmer.

As for the Bourbon, I like Four Roses Single Barrel.  For this application, I might even consider using some maple Sortilege whisky that I have on hand.

I dig this cozy, but sophisticated Ted Baker cable sweater.  (Frankly, I love the whole look.)  The pattern in the weave is great.  The neck isn’t too constricting.  And I like how it maintains a relaxed feel but is still pretty.

Ted Baker has a big sale going on right now.  The brand has been hurting in the WFH years.  So if you’re looking for work basics, I would take a trip by the site.

For the office, I really like this patterned shirt dress.  This tailored navy blazer is also a nice option for <$200.  Need dresses for holiday parties?  I found this puff sleeve, wrap dress and this very cool black dress.  They would both make fab party attire.

FYI received my order of Wit & Wisdom jeans based on post a few days ago–Thank you I love them. True to size, great fabric. I am 5’4″ and they will need a hem.Dark blue seems a bit dressier.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
