**Editor’s Note: Before we start, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who purchased an item for the World Relief kitchen kits. We have enough goods to put together eight kits, which is incredible. I may do more kits in the future, but I’d like to focus on getting these eight put together and delivered. You guys are amazing! I’ll add $50 grocery gift cards to the kits at World Relief’s request, so they should be all set for the new arrivals.**
I don’t drink much wine. It’s just not my thing. But this summer, I bought a few bottles of rose in anticipation of having friends over in a post-pandemic world. We just never really got there. So now I have all of this rose that I have to drink … what a shame.
This Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rose is a South African wine made with grapes specifically grown and harvested to make rose. It’s bright and fresh, not too sweet. It’s the only light rose that I really enjoy drinking. If you like rose, but don’t want to drink pale wines in winter, check out darker rose’s.
We need to talk about Banana Republic. Their late summer drop was amazing, and now their fall drop is even better.
This trench coat is incredible. I bought it immediately, retiring another trench that I was just “meh” about. The material is heavier than their last trench, the belt is wider and thicker, and the garnet felt under the collar, amazing. Also, there is a reason this double-breasted blazer is selling out fast. It’s that good.
So if you’re feeling you want to spruce up your fall wardrobe, some of the pieces at BR are just the ticket. They have a modern feel but are classic enough to wear them for years.

Love that DB blazer. Many of the larger sizes are sold out on the website but I called to reserve it at my local store.
I have a good handle on how to wear such a weighty piece with jeans casually, but would love to see a post on how to style professionally…or with a floaty dress.(I have a sense that would work but it would need to be just right.)
The blazer and trench are gorgeous. But I’m drooling over the boots that are pictured with the trench. I was hoping to find those, but alas, I don’t see them on the site.
IN France, in those heady pre-pandemic days, I went to eating with a friend at a little port bistro. On the menu was “Pamplemousse Rose” – which was grapefruit liqueur with (very nicely chilled) rose wine. it was wonderful – not sweet and very refreshing. If you have any rose that you are prepared to mix, I can highly recommend it.
I have a *very* similar blazer in navy from BR circa 2012 – which IMO was the 1st of an incredible 3yr run on sharp, modern, classics that haven’t yet been replaced in my professional wardrobe because they have truly stood the test of time. Just put the iced mocha blazer in my cart; hopefully the fabric is quality. That has been an issue for the brand since 2015…
Tips for styling trench coats with casual wear underneath? I have an extremely high quality Club Monaco trench in classic beige that I bought years ago, and I’ve only ever worn it as a San Francisco summer “dress coat” to the opera/ballet/etc. Now that I’m moving to Montana next year, I’m fresh out of ideas for how to wear it…
