Wednesday Outfit: Break Out the Joggers

Aug 25, 2021

Today, I’m having surgery. So there’s really no reason to pretend that ‘real’ clothes are going to happen.  Instead, lets style up some soft clothes in a way that makes them look stylish and put together.

Caralyn Mirand is one of my new favorite blogs.  I adore her.  This outfit is a great option for those days when you just can’t, but you still must.  So let’s rebuild it.

Joggers // A few years ago, my MOH, Theresa, and I reviewed Vuori joggers and leggings.  They’re still my favorite option for when I need a break.  The joggers are soft and comfy.  The leggings are soft, comfy, and perfect for days when you just want to lounge.  And they’re new harem pants look like a great option.

Plus-size?  These Champion joggers look very much like their counterparts from Vuori.  Need a tall length?  Vuori has them.

T-Shirt // This twist front tee from Cable Stitch is a great addition to any casual wardrobe.  This Upside tee has a stylish knot-front tee is also fab.  Francesca’s has a plus-size option that is worth a look.

Jacket // A great denim jacket is a wardrobe staple.  I prefer a darker wash, but this washed denim jacket from Joe’s Jeans has me rethinking that.  For something under-$100, this Levi’s jacket is worth a look.  But my number one choice is this more fitted jacket from Kut from the Kloth.  Plus-size?  J.Crew Factory has you covered.

Bag // When was the last time you bought a new bag?  Not recently, that’s for sure.  But I’ve had my eye on this Cuyana System Tote for a minute.  (It is perennially in my cart.)  I love the shape and the sleek look.  It’s a great bag for both work and casual wear.

Shoes // Sneakers are tough to get right, but there’s something special about these leopard-accented ones from Uggs.  They’re an affordable $110.  I also love these APL sneakers with a more athletic feel.

Extras // Let’s finish off this look with a great necklace and a fabulous nail polish.  Terracotta is a hot nail polish for fall.  This Play Koi shade from Essie is my favorite because it’s not too red.  I also love this safety pin necklace from Baublebar.  It’s a lovely addition to a layered look or wear it on its own.

Good luck Abra! Not sure if you’ve talked to anyone about body changes post egg retrieval (all temporary of course), but many women experience hyperstimulation of their ovaries and collect a lot of fluid in their abdomen. You can appear to be about 5-6 months pregnant for a while. I recommend elastic waist pants and shorts (might be more comfortable if you experience hot flashes) and some stretchy bras to accomodate any changes in the tatas (sometimes going bra-less is less comfortable). All the best to you!
