Today’s look comes from @PrissySavvy and it’s a great idea for easing back into the office. The outfit pairs a pleated skirt and simple cardigan with a slogan tee for a bit of whimsy. This would be a fabulous business casual look or fun on a Friday. Here’s the Monday Outfit.
Th original all-pink look is so fabulous. But for my office, it won’t work. So I chose to recreate the look in a selection of blues and greys, a more muted palette, but the pieces are all still there.
Pleated Skirt // This teal skirt from Vince is on deep discount at Net-a-Porter. I love the dark, moody color and the irregular pleating. But if you want something a bit more traditional, this navy Tory Burch skirt has a wider pleat and a wrap detail. Or, if you prefer a basic, hit up this J.Crew skirt. Plus-size? This Ralph Lauren skirt is a total classic.
Graphic Tee // J.Crew has a few slogan tees this season. This ‘Love’ tee is as clean and simple as they come. Or if you prefer a simple pattern, no words, this citrus tee is very cute. Also in plus, as J.Crew has inclusive sizing.
If you’re looking to make a statement with your t-shirt choice, I adore this Claudie Pierlot ‘Unity is the New Power’ tee. This French brand makes a lot of fun slogan tees. I also like this ‘Modern Heroines‘ tee (which is more fitted) and this ‘I Feel Love’ tee (which fits more like a muscle tee).
Cardigan // I wanted to match the slate-blue color on the tee as close to the cardigan as possible, and this one from Banana Republic does the trick. This Max Mara slate blue cardigan is also great. Other options in this color palette include a navy cardigan or a pale blue one.
The longer cardigan in the inspiration photo is going to make me look so short with the midi-skirt. But if you don’t struggle with that issue, I highly recommend this Juliette cardigan jacket from J.Crew.
Flats // Who’s not ready for high heels yet? This girl, right here. So I swapped out the heels in the photo for a pair of snakeskin flats from Cole Haan (on deep sale at The Rack).
Not a fan of snakeskin? Try a nude-to-you shoe. These beige Nine West patent leather flats would be good for me. This deeper caramel color from Vionic is lovely. And this chocolate-colored flat from Modcloth has a fun scallop edge.
Bag // Target has some great bags right now. This triple-compartment satchel from A New Day is an affordable work bag. It comes in several colors.
Looking for more of an ‘investment’ piece? ReBag lets you buy gently used designer bags for a fraction of the price. This Fendi 2Jours bag is a steal.
Jewelry // It’s so hard to find a piece of jewelry that mixes metals in a way that feels organic. These Shashi hoop earrings from Shopbop are a fantastic option. They also offer a larger blended hoop and these linked drop earrings.

Officially influenced into buying everything still available in my size. I am a tad worried about styling the skirt… any chance we could get a pleated-skirt-a-few-ways type post?
Second! Tucking in shirts into pleated midi skirts doesn’t seem to look good anymore on my post-pandemic body. But untucked looks sloppy. Would love any hacks for wearing midi pleated skirts without looking frumpy.
Knot it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5mRcaGgrB4
Thirded for a pleated skirt 3 ways! I have two, and struggle with how to style them. I have knotted long-sleeve chambrays and that looks pretty cute, but I knooooow there must be more options. I own two pleated long skirts (pale pink and fuschia) from JCrew factory. Probably supposed to be midi but I am 5ft so they are definitely full length on me. Mid-section is also my trouble area, so open to ideas!
