Under-$50 Week: A Relaxed, A-Line Dress

Jun 2, 2021

As you know, I wear dresses almost exclusively in the summer.  I’ve been on the hunt for dresses that are cut a little bit looser, but still fitted.  The oversized caftan has its place, but I prefer something with a bit of shape.  And this affordable a-line dress is exactly what I’m searching for right now.

This Amazon Essentials Midi A-Line Dress is the perfect mix of relaxed and fitted.  The short sleeve and midi length makes this a versatile choice.  And the pockets make this an easy dress to wear while running errands, heading to the Farmer’s Market, or going to coffee.

The dress runs XS to XXL.  It also comes in eight colors and patterns.

They also make a similar style that’s knee-length and sleeveless.  This shirtdress is also worth a look (love the red print).

During the summer, what do you wear under these dresses? Jocky skimmies? Anything for thigh chaffing?

  2. JAMIe says:

I would kill for a dress like this with a seam instead of a silly little string belt.

Dang it, Belle! *adds to cart*

This is lovely. Also SUBSTANTIALLY less expensive than $50! I just ordered it in the hot pink color but have my eye on the green print and blue and white stripes!

I actually ordered this one a couple of days ago and can speak to the fact that it’s very comfortable and I’ve found that it fits true to size! It was easy for me to add a more structured belt, I just tucked the drawstrings in between the buttons and it was perfect!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
