The Best Mask for Working Out

May 12, 2021

Working out indoors while wearing a mask is uncomfortable.  It’s hot, sweaty, and a bit suffocating.  But if these are the rules, they’re the rules.  So I was grateful to find a mask that was more comfortable to wear to the gym.

Athleta’s Activate Face Mask is much more comfortable than any other mask that I have tried for strenuous activity.  It’s made of a TurboDry fabric that wicks moisture away from your face.  It’s molded so it doesn’t cling to your face.  And it’s described as a “breathable, non-medical mask.”

And the best part, they’re currently on sale for $9.99 for a pack of two.

yes, love these! I wore these skiing this winter because one day of having an iced-over face mask was enough.

I’m a figure skater and we’ve had mask requirements for months. After a few sessions sucking air through a mask soaked with sweat and glued to my face, I bought the Spacer Dome Pro. Downside: it’s ugly. Wish I had seen the Athleta option back then, because they look much nicer. But the Spacer Dome Pro does what it promises, absolutely no collapsing against my nose and mouth even after strenuous exercise.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
