These Daily Ritual dresses are an item I feel like I promote too much. But they’re just that good.
I came back from Montana one size bigger. I needed to develop a plan for getting back in shape after Session, and I needed to figure out how I would dress in the interim. So I bought four Daily Ritual dresses in the bigger sizes and called it a day. I spent less than $125, and will be good to go until I can fit into my other clothes again. Problem solved.
If you’re going to buy a dress (or dresses) from Daily Ritual, I recommend sticking to their Lived In line. The cotton is a good weight. They’re not sheer. And they wash and wear beautifully.
This short sleeve maxi dress is my go to. The side vents keep it cool even on hot days. I layer on a casual jacket in chilly weather. It’s the easiest dress in the world.
I also picked up one of their shorter roll-sleeve dresses and a relaxed-fit crewneck dress. I plan to wear these with sneakers or sandals. I can dress them up with a long necklace or layer on a long cardigan for sitting around my office.
If you need basic t-shirt dresses for summer that won’t break the bank, these are the ones to choose. I love them. I would say I own too many of them, but what is too many when you wear them all the time?

Amen. These are the best summer dresses out there. I have “too many” but I literally don’t want to wear anything else. 🙂
I lived in two of these for my pandemic summer last summer (alternated with linen cotton joggers). They have held up beautifully and I am now mixing in with other maxi dresses for my second covid summer at home.
Has anyone had luck with these on a postpartum body/with a belly pooch? I would love these to work but I’m afraid they’re just going to highlight the parts I prefer not to.
You might be better off with the relaxed style, because it’s much more forgiving. They also have an a-line style in their rib-knit that’s worth a look, it’s more of a midi length. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Brand-Spandex-Line-XX-Large/dp/B07YDK74W2/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=daily+ritual+a+line&qid=1620841599&sr=8-1
Last summer, I was 5’8″, 215 pounds and all of that extra weight was in my hips and belly (c-section pooch) and this dress in a XXL for the most part just skimmed on the way down. I found it more flattering with a hip length jean jacket on top, but I definitely wore it out of the house without. I have since gained 15 more pounds (thanks covid winter) and it’s not the most flattering, but still perfectly fine for WFH and walking around the neighbhorhood. My advice would be to size up if you are concerned about it.
Edited to add I checked my order history and I have the relaxed fit ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JK9ZDYR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also got the stripes (grey and white and white and black) because any “catching” they do is less noticeable to me than in the solid colors.
I’m 5’8″ and this summer I’m 245lb and the XL works for me. It’s flattering and drapes nicely over the covid tummy. I own one in black and just purchased two more in black and navy.
I have a larger belly pooch than I started from pandemic with and have two of these dresses. I don’t feel self conscious about my belly in these at all, but I also stuck with the darker colors (navy and olive). I also went with my usual pandemic size.
Thanks all! I’m going for it.
Oh man, these didn’t work for me (I actually need a little definition at the waist to mask that same issue + hips), but can I suggest an alternate? I just got this dress and *adore* it. One of the few times the ruching/knot doesn’t make your middle look bigger, fabric seems to drape well, and it’s not too long (I’m 5’4″ and it his at mid-ankle if I recall) https://www.nordstromrack.com/s/t-tahari-front-twist-crew-neck-sleeveless-maxi-dress/n3190394
I bought three of the maxi-dresses based on your recommendation. I’m going back for three more. They’re great!
Ugh I wish these came in petite sizes for those of us who are short! Anyone have any recommendations?
