Basics Week: The Perfect Navy Pants

Apr 27, 2021

When I’m working at the Legislature, running to the dry cleaner is not something that I have time to do.  And while I can use Dryel to dry clean clothes at home, I would rather just wash everything.  (I accidentally washed a suit jacket last week, and it feels like a crisis averted.)  So when I spotted these sleek navy pants and saw they were machine washable, I was sold.

These Meraki wide leg pants are perfect for work or work from home.  They’re comfortable and easy to wear.  They also have a great drape to them, which helps them look dressier than their price point would suggest.  They also come in black.

Meraki also makes several styles of pants, all of which are machine washable.  Their flare leg pants have a tab front, so you won’t get that weird bump in your shirt from the snap when you wear them.  Their ankle-length slim-leg trousers are also worth a look.

Also, if you’re a person who prefers dresses to pants, Meraki’s basic wrap dress has great style and is totally machine washable.  It’s perfect for work travel.

{I recommend products that I love or love the look of, not ones that are sponsored. If you buy one of the linked items, I may earn a small commission.}

    Hi- Any thoughts on the fit? Amazon says they run small, and I’m in between sizes. Thanks!

  2. TheLOOP says:

    Same question on fit. Did you find them tight in the waist like the reviews say?

    • Belle says:

      Because of the high waisted-ness, I sized up. The size up was not as loose as anticipated, so I’m glad I did.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
