Happy Hour: Champagne Cocktails

Dec 18, 2020

Champagne is for celebrating.  2020 didn’t give us a ton to celebrate.  But with 2021 and the promise of vaccine-driven herd-immunity just around the corner, perhaps we should be celebrating the light at the end of a very dark tunnel?

Sparkling cocktails are the easiest thing to make for a group.  A couple of bottles of decent-quality Prosecco, Cava or Champagne, the mixers of you choosing laid out, and everyone can make their own drinks.  But even if it’s just you and your immediate family, sparkling cocktails can still be a lot of fun.

This Elderflower Grapefruit Mimosa with sprigs of thyme from Fed + Fit is perfect for winter.  I love the mix of citrus and herbal notes.  Looking for other sparkling cocktails?  Esquire has a good list of bubbly beverages.

We’re celebrating Christmas a couple of days late, but we’ve decided that we’re dressing up.  Because why not?  2020 has taken a lot from us, and I’m not going to let it take the only thing I love about Christmas — festive attire.

I wanted something that was comfortable and chic.  This & Other Stories Ribbed Sweetheart Neck Dress is a great option.  Prefer a v-neck?  Try this dress from Aqua.  I also love the drama of this off-the-shoulder Line & Dot dress.  Plus-size?  Give this wide-neck sweater dress a look.
