Best of 2020: The Cool Business Suit

Dec 14, 2020

This year has been a series of unfortunate events.  Hopefully, better times are on the horizon, but let’s dive into a little bit of normalcy and discuss my Best Purchases of 2020.  To borrow a phrase from one if my favorite Instagram accounts: These are the things that I bought and liked.

Last week, I finally got to wear my new, dark-green business suit from Ann Taylor.  And it is easily one of my best purchases of 2020.  I love the unexpected, but still professional look of the dark green.

The shawl collar blazer is slightly more modern take on the classic blazer.  I bought the sleek pencil skirt, but there is also a straight-leg pant and sheath dress with a cap sleeve.

The suit comes in sizes 0-18.  It also comes in petite and tall lengths.  And the pants can be purchased in a classic or curvy fit.

The suit is also 50% off until midnight on 12/14.  So don’t miss out on a great suit for 2021.

As for how to wear it, I like how it looks with a simple v-neck blouse.  You could also go with bow-neck blouse in ivory.  Or if you want some color, try a pale blue blouse for a professional but colorful option.

Plus-size? There weren’t a lot of options, but I did find this green and black stripe suit from Le Suit.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
