The Find: A Relaxed Blazer

Dec 2, 2020

Our legislature meets on Saturdays. Working weekends is less than ideal, especially since the Secretary of the Senate is a lovely woman who believes firmly that no one should ever wear jeans to the office.

So what will be my weekend work attire this session?  This relaxed H&M blazer is a top contender.

This ruched sleeve blazer has a relaxed feel to it.  The longer cut is nice for wearing with slim-leg pants.  It would also look great with jeans or layered over a dress.  Not feeling the black?  It also comes in a lovely pale grey knitted fabric.

Plus-size?  This draped blazer from Modcloth is worth a look.

Seconding the recommendation for this blazer. It is a true workhorse-chic, versatile, comfortable. I have blazers that I paid 3x as much for that I wear half as often. Just the other day I was thinking I should stock up on a backup…thanks for reading my mind!

DO IT! I bought an H&M blazer years ago that was the perfect relaxed tuxedo cut and I ended up wearing it all the time and regretting not buying like 10 more

Any suggestions for a shorter/cropped blazer? My short torso looks ridiculous in the long and lean blazers…on the hunt for a relaxed blazer for us shorter girls!

I own an older version of this blazer from H&M and it is amazing! I also work for my state’s legislature and constantly get compliments on it.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
