Happy Hour: A Winter Cocktail

Nov 13, 2020

The Pacific Northwest is known for mild winters, but this isn’t one of them.  And with the pandemic entering a third wave, going out for a cocktail isn’t really an option.  So let’s talk about a delicious, sippable winter cocktail that has citrus, herbal and sweet notes.

This cocktail from GirlBossBrideGuide has tangerine, honey, rosemary and whiskey.  It is one of those well-balanced cocktails where every sip gives you a little bit of each flavor.  It’s a great winter cocktail to make for yourself when you just want a cocktail at the end of the day to make starting the weekend an event.

This sweater and shorts set is a cute pajama alternative.  The sweater and shorts set has a ribbed knit texture that’s really cozy and comfortable.  It comes in several colors, but this oatmeal is my favorite.  In runs in sizes from XXS to 3X.

Wear this cute set with a sheer black lingerie set for date night.  I like this set from Passionata (the Brits are just better at making lingerie that’s sexy and sophisticated than we are).

Ok, why have I not thought of wearing lingerie under cozy loungewear for at-home date nights? That is brilliant. Best of both worlds.
Also that cocktail looks delicious. I love a whiskey drink in winter!

I’ve never understood the long sleeve but shorts PJ sets. Gosh, my arms are freezing but my legs are sweating! Otherwise, it looks super cozy.

Just FYI, we are still in the first wave of the pandemic in the U.S.

Just a heads up that free people is having a sale. You do have to spend $250 I think, but I finally pulled the trigger on an ottoman sweater plus got a Christmas gift.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
