Sweater Week: A Pointelle Sweater Dress

Oct 30, 2020

Before we get to this morning’s sweater, I listed some items from my closet on Poshmark.  I’m trying to clear out the pieces that are too small.  I’ll be listing more pieces this weekend.  Anything unsold on 11/11 will got to consignment.

A casual sweater dress is a nice option for casual Friday and weekend brunch dates.  This option has cool details and a soft neutral color.  It’s definitely worth a look.

I adore the pointelle neckline on this LOFT sweater dress.  The soft oatmeal color is a nice neutral for fall.  And the slight puff sleeve and loose fit are perfect for relaxed wear.

I would pair this dress with a knee-high pair of tan boots.  The different brown hues work well together.

Prefer a slimmer-fitting sweater dress?  Try this puff-sleeve sweater dress from Skinnygirl (also in plus-size).  This Gap v-neck sweater dress is also a nice option.

Bare legs? Brown tights? Even with all your guides from past years, I’m always stumped on how to make these looks work.

I’d do brown tights and matching brown ankle boots. And a long necklace. Looooove that neckline.

      • E says:

Actually, scrap the long necklace. That neckline should stand alone. Fun earrings or bracelets instead. 🙂

And honestly, for WFH? I’d be wearing leggings underneath and slippers. 🙂

Brown tights with brown boots would work. I did bare legs, because I don’t find tights to be that much warmer.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
