Wednesday Outfit: Fresh, but Casual

Sep 23, 2020

Since my newsletter, Break Things (on Instagram Stories and Substack) is very similar to the Weekly Edit, I’m going to move the Monday Outfit to Wednesday.  And today’s outfit is for weekend, work-from-home or just running errands around town.

If you’re staying at home, Kendi Everyday is a blog you should check out.  She makes simple, easy, casual outfits look cool.  She always manages to add the little extras that make jeans and a t-shirt look chic.  Here’s how I would recreate her joggers look.

Jacket // I feel like a broken record on this LL.Bean jacket and I’m totally fine with it.  For five years, I have been singing the praises of this versatile utility jacket.  It’s heavy, well-made, and stylish AF.  It also comes in petite and plus.

Want something with a slouchier look?  This Gap jacket has a slightly more relaxed feel.  For a more unique look, try this Rails jacket in navy with tonal star print.

T-Shirt // White v-neck tees, you should have one or two in your wardrobe because they’re great for wearing solo or layered.  This L’Agence tee is a blogger favorite, a little sheer and a little fitted.  Personally, I wear my tees a lot, so I prefer to just snap up Everlane tees or Old Navy tees.

Joggers // Vuori joggers are the bomb.  They’re slim-fitting, wear like iron, soft as a cloud.  But they’re a little spendy, so I chose these Jockey joggers and these Zella Lived-In joggers to show also.  Plus-size? These Hue joggers look like a good buy.  Petite?  The Vuori joggers are cropped and slim fitting, so a number of my petite friends just buy those.

Shoes // I love, love these Veja sneakers.  I keep putting them in my cart, but I own these black Adidas, so I can’t really justify the purchase.  (Even though I really want them.)  I like them because they’re sporty in a very stylish way, and they’re not the same white Vejas everyone is wearing.

Accessories // This Kita backpack from AllSaints is the only backpack that I would ever own.  It’s convertible, so you can use it as a tote or hobo also.  The details are phenomenal.  I didn’t buy the olive one at the Nordstrom Sale, and I have been kicking myself every day since.

The necklace is Gorjana from Nordstrom Rack.  Seriously, if you’re ever in need of jewelry, just hit the Rack.  It’s so affordable and they have every designer you could ever want.

These ZeroUV sunglasses are <$20, and the best.  They’re perfectly oversized, look chic, wear well.  And I hope they restock the colors soon, because I need a brown pair.
