Last week, I posted a dress for work, and so many of you said in the comments that you’re back in the officeand in need of style advice.  I apologize for falling into the trap of thinking that most white-collar workers are at home right now.  So I’m going to rectify that error going forward, starting with styling tips for both work and work-from-home.

Left // Work from home for me this fall will be basically all leggings.  Wearing comfortable pants and hanging out with my dog all day are the only things I enjoy about this experience, so I’m not going to give them up.  But I am on Zoom calls that require me to do the work on top, yoga on bottom look frequently.

I chose a long tee because being an older millennial, I like to have my rear view covered when I wear leggings.  This Rag & Bone tunic tee is spendy, but the big takeaway from the look is the v-neck.  V-necks and scoop necks will complement a blazer with a v-neckline better than a crewneck.

I like this scoop neck BR tee in a soft modal fabric, also in petite.  For a plus-size option, Caslon makes a really nice t-shirt.

Add the leggings of your choosing to this outfit.  I’m considering a pair of heavy, ponte pants to add to my legging rotation.  This way, if I need to run out to the courthouse to file something or to a meeting, I don’t have to change.  NYDJ has a really cool pair (runs up to size 28), and so does Vince Camuto.

I added a pair of Rothy’s loafers; they’re my fall slipper alternative.  For the jewelry, these layered necklaces from Nordstrom Rack are a smoking’ deal, separately or together.  The big link, paperclip chain is long enough to layer with the pendant.

Right // My first instinct was to do a classic black sheath dress (do not miss this deeply discounted Elie Tahari) and a pair of tights with this jacket.  But if you’ve been reading this blog for a bit, you probably have that look dialed.  So let’s do something different.

These bold green pants are from Michelle Mason.  If you like colored trousers, Boden certainly has a robust selection.  Plus-size?  I like these yellow and baby blue pants from Eloquii.

I chose this Banana Republic top because it’s a work shirt that wears like a comfy tee.  It also comes in petite.  For a similar option in plus, try this Jessica Simpson blouse.

Leopard was the perfect shoe choice for a green pant.  These Sarah Flint flats are really chic with the structural bow on the vamp.  For a less-expensive option, try these Edelman Rodney flats.  Wide feet?  Try these Lifestride flats.

For the earrings, I chose something besides simple metal.  These Harlequin enamel earrings are a cool addition.  If you want something more traditional, I also like this black enamel studs with a cz accent.

For the makeup, I would keep this look pretty natural, but add a berry lip stain.  For the hair, I like this Looped and Twisted updo from Small Things Blog, which looks better with dirty hair, which is my COVID must have.
