The Find: A Belted Blazer

Sep 8, 2020

Wearing a blazer on Zoom is a surprisingly controversial topic.  One of my friends flat refuses to wear what she refers to as “the uniform of a former life.”  Another, wears a blazer over her pajama top for 7:00AM staff meetings.  But whether you’re Team Blazer or Team Sweatshirt, this belted blazer is perfect for now or later.

This belted blazer from Express has a lot of positives.  First, the belted styling means you can make any top — t-shirt, pajama, workout tank — Zoom call appropriate.  Second, the belted style defines the waist and elongates the torso.  Third, when you’re wearing it to the office, it will look aces over any simple sleeveless dress. Lastly, while it looks stiff and cinched, the fabric is so buttery soft that it feels more relaxed on.

Plus-size?  I found this white belted blazer from River Island.

Express is having a big sale that has seriously lowered the price of their blazers.  So I’m going to post a few more in case you want an affordable throw-on for Zoom meetings,

I don’t wear a blazer often, but I love a casual ruched sleeve or 3/4 sleeve blazer to elevate a jeans and loafers look. That last one is really elegant with an interesting looking lapel, love it!

These look great! I love the accentuated shoulder on the belted blazer. How is the sizing?

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
