The Find: A Gorgeous Floral Dress

Jul 7, 2020

Shopping for the blog, I’m looking for three things: 1) pieces I can wear now, 2) pieces I can wear later, 3) and pieces that look more expensive than they are.  This dress checks all three boxes.

This Madewell Sheer Sleeve Midi Dress has a unique color palette, a flirty shape, and a relaxed vibe.  The dress has a flattering v-neck and a cap sleeve.  And did I mention it’s on sale?  It’s cute for the home office but good for a backyard date night.  Here’s how to style it.

For WFH: Add a lightweight oatmeal cardigan and a comfortable slipper.

For an At-Home Date Night: Add cool earrings with bare feet and an anklet.

For Errands: A cognac crossbody, a mask, and a pair of cute sandals.

For a Summer Wedding: A gorgeous knot-front heel, statement earrings, and a straw clutch.

I love this dress! Can you update the link on the cognac crossbody? It takes me to an anklet, and I’m on the hunt for a new crossbody! Thanks.

  2. Edna Mazur says:

Shout out for the Old Navy masks. They aren’t great by any means, but I love that they are cheap and washable. Ordered a bunch for the kiddos for back to school as well!

  3. Amanda says:

I’m so excited to see those Target sandals! The cross-front version has been my go-to for the last two summers, but after near-daily wear they’re looking a little worn. Thanks also for including mask styling options… it feels like that’s shifting from a functional non-outfit item to a planned part of the look.

  4. Georgette says:

Also, the link for the knot-front heels goes back to the other sandals… Thanks!

  5. KATe says:

I need a cognac crossbody, but the link goes to the anklet. Would you please repost?

I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
