The Beauty Range: Hand Sanitizer

Jun 26, 2020

Like many parts of the country, Spokane is experiencing a significant resurgence in COVID-19 cases.  My purse used to be filled with lipsticks.  Now it’s filled with bottles of hand sanitizer.  Here are a few of my favorite products for cleaning your hands in a pinch.

The One for Small Purses

Touchland’s hand sanitizer spray comes in a lot of delicious scents.  But its best innovation is the shape of the container.  The flatter, boxy shape makes it a better fit for keeping in your pocket or in a small purse.

The One for Those Who Love Luxury

Byredo is one of those ‘cool girl’ brands that pops up on the pages of glossy magazines.  Their Rinse Free Hand Wash is hand sanitizer for women who love a bit of luxury.

The One from the ‘It’ Brand

Megababe is a brand on the lips of many influencers right now.  Their products include anti-chafe Thigh Rescue, Happy Pits armpit detoxifying mask, and Megafresh Wipes for cleaning up after a sweaty walk home from work.  And now, they have Hand Sanitizer, so you can kill germs and be ‘in the know’ about what’s cool.

For the Lady Who Needs More Moisture

The Cleaner Soul Hand Sanitizer kills germs and moisturizes with Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera.  A friend who suffers from dry skin highly recommends this product for frequent hand sanitizing.

The One for Pregnant Ladies

These BabyGanics hand sanitizing wipes are alcohol-free and triclosan-free, making them a safer choice for pregnant women.  They’re also a great choice for those with sensitive skin.

I use megababe and love it. It really isn’t drying at all. They sell a large version as well.

  2. Amanda says:

I think I’m at the acceptance phase where I move from thinking about the very functional masks I got in March as a tool to thinking about masks as a long-term accessory. I’m a little overwhelmed by the volume of what I can find online and underwhelmed by the selection of “pretty” masks (I’m looking for cool prints and bold colors that would pair well with my rotation of solid colors for Zoom calls). Seen anything really great?

    • C-Ann says:

I love (& have received many compliments on) the mask I purchased from aliceyardleymaine.com She restocks with new patterns every Saturday evening and I had my mask in hand just a few days later. (I don’t know Alice personally, rather I had admired her velvet clutches on Instagram pre-pandemic, and I prioritize supporting independent artists, esp. from my home state of Maine!)

    • Ivanna says:

I tried a whole bunch (5) of different brands, and none of them come close to the comfort, fit, and gorgeous unique styles on ELLIEWAN.

    • erica says:

I’ll add that the ones from Janery (janery.com) are great — plus her pet products/pillows are amazing (which is how I found her in the beginning)!

  3. Michelle says:

I backed Touchland when it was a kickstarter and like these a lot. The scents are strong though- more so than bath and body works hand sanitizer.

Back when we were traveling and flying I opted for other hand sanitizer when I was on a plane so the scent didn’t overwhelm the small space. Not that that is really a concern much nowadays.

Can definitely vouch that it fits well in purses and pockets since it’s flat.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
