Thursday Outfit: From Lou & Grey

Jun 4, 2020

How are you doing?  For real.  Take a minute to think about how your mind and heart are right now.  2020 has been a real mind melt, and if you never stop to ask yourself how you’re doing, you won’t start caring for yourself until the situation is dire.

In my own life, everything is off balance this week.  I have no routine, no structure, no peace.  And it seems stupid to say it, but one of the few things I can control right now is what I wear, and being able to choose to wear comfortable, pretty things is offering me a little solace.

Obviously, there are far deeper, more pressing issues at hand.  But this is a fashion blog, so whatever comfort we can take from our attire, let’ snatch it up.

At the start of the pandemic, I spent a weekend purging my closet.  And I gave away and sold a lot of pieces that didn’t fit me anymore or weren’t getting worn.  So now, I’m trying to replace them with pieces that will.

Enter, Lou & Grey.  I basically want to replace my entire wardrobe with their new arrivals section.  But here’s a work from home outfit that would keep me comfortable and warm in my chilly home office.

Small Hoop Earrings

Marlknit Cropped Wrap Sweater

Ribbed Maxi Dress

Inne Linen Slides

I connected so deeply to this: “…if you never stop to ask yourself how you’re doing, you won’t start caring for yourself until the situation is dire.” I sought out psychotherapy and much-needed medication only after my own situation became dire, and I wish I had heard (and followed) your advice many years ago.

Also, since this is indeed a fashion blog, I have to chime in to say that the gold hoop earrings are just what I’ve been looking for.

    Thank you!

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
