Happy Hour: French Press Cocktails

May 1, 2020

No, these cocktails do not include coffee.  But if you have a French Press hiding in a dusty corner of your pantry, clean it up, because this cocktail trick is genius.

Brit + Co. has the skinny on this new cocktail must.  From what I gather you mix fruit and herbs with your favorite spirits and mixers, let all the goodness infuse together an then strain.  The Spruce Eats also has some specific recipes to get you started.

My first French Press concoction included oranges, tangerines, lemon, Earl Grey tea and a bit of bourbon.  I’m also planning to try pouring some leftover wine in with fruit for a sangria-like drink.

If there was a brand designed for the way we live now, it would be Lou & Grey.  Casual, relaxed, unfussy and still pretty.  From dresses to loungewear, they have everything I need for Coronavirus Summer.

This On the Dot Tunic dress is certainly no exception.  Also, the cute tie-front dress I put up last week is now 40% off.

Sadly, Lou & Grey is not inclusive.  However, their sister brand, LOFT, is and has some lovely semi-relaxed and casual pieces for warmer weather.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
