WFH Items: Summer Sandals

Apr 24, 2020

The weather in the Upper Left is still fairly cool; I have to wear my North Face vest on my morning walks.  So my head is still dressing for cooler weather, but I know it’s quite warm where some of you are.  But even if it’s too chilly where I am, let’s talk about a few pairs of under-$100 summer sandals that I like the look of right now.

You know I’m a sucker for tortoise print.  These Dolce Vita Sandals are a wonderful way to wear it.

These simple Jessica Simpson Crossover Slides are definitely worth a look.  They’re a nice casual sandal for summer wear.

If you need a minimal sandal that goes with anything, this Splendid Meghan Sandal is a wonderful choice.

I put up these Madewell Sandals on Tuesday, but they’re do good, I have to share them again.

A metallic sandal is a great neutral shoe for summer. This rose gold sandal from Splendid is a fabulous option at a good price.

Sam Edelman’s Cutout Slide Sandals have a classic look to them.  They also come in wide widths.

These are lovely, however, those of us with feet larger than 10 M require other options.

  2. Monica T says:

I always love the look of these really basic flat sandals, but when not in ‘safer at home’ mode I walk 3-4 miles a day and they slaughter my feet. I owned those Sam Edelman’s and they were stylish but didn’t work for my lifestyle. I found a great pair of Comfortiva sandals last year that I could walk and walk and walk in, but this year they don’t appear to be making them, so now I’m trying to find good cork sole replacements. Most Birks are a little too utilitarian, but I’m thinking about trying their Papillio line. Yay for Summer days ahead!

I like my Birkenstocks while home, but out and about I’ve had good luck with Vionics for walking for miles. Sort through their offerings to find the more stylish ones.

Have you looked into Vionic? They have orthopedic soles. I bought a pair last summer that I wore through 10 days in Spain. On the pricey side though.

Did you see that Rothy’s came out with sandals? They are pretty cute and a good easy-to-wear.

Loved the first pair of sandals and wound up purchasing…

Note for others, if you leave them in your cart and walk away they’ll add 20% off!

  5. Becky says:

I appreciate the metallic offering. I prefer a sandal that has an ankle strap, finding that I struggle to keep sandals such as slides or mules on my feet. I realize this has the effect of shortening the leg sometimes, especially those that feature a thick strap. I find wearing skin toned sandals somewhat mitigates the problem. Clenching my feet to hold onto shoes contributed to the arthritis with which I now suffer in my metatarsals. Thank you for the summer-forward “feeture!”

Ha, I wore the gold sandals to my wedding! They were very comfortable all day and night. Great pick!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
