The Find: The Perfect Shirt Dress

Apr 2, 2020

I have never looked forward to summer so much.  And even though the future is uncertain, I think we all share the hope that life will get better.  So I’m embracing that optimism today with a shirt dress that is so perfect, it’s like I designed it myself.

From the mandarin collar to the breezy side slits, this Half Placket Tunic Dress has summer written all over.  It’s a great dress for summer dinners or casual Fridays.  It’s a complete classic.  The dress also comes in gorgeous blue stripe.

Club Monaco has fantastic dresses for warm weather, and they’re all 25% off right now.  This printed silk dress really caught my attention.  I love the soft geometric print.

Looking for a more affordable shirt dress?  Here are a few more lovely options.

Court & Rowe Stripe Midi Dress ($129)

AllSaints Sani Shirtdress ($75)

Cos Cotton Shirt Dress ($125)

H&M Cotton Shirt Dress ($50)

Timeless Short Sleeve Shirt Dress ($66, also in plus)

The Range: Best Picks from Ann Taylor

One of the questions that is often asked about D.C. fashion is: Why is there so much Ann Taylor? The answer is simple enough — the hemlines are long enough, the styles are easy to wear, almost everything is machine washable, and it’s easy to find pieces for professional offices or casual ones. Plus, there’s […]

The Range: Trouser Jeans

Yesterday, we chatted about not-see-through tees. Today, I want to talk about jeans. I am so grateful wide leg denim is back in a big way. And if you’re going to the office, you need a trouser style jean to see you through the week (or just casual Friday). Here are some favorites in different […]
