The Find: A Travel Cape

Nov 15, 2019

With holiday travel on the horizon, let’s take a moment to talk about my favorite airplane accessory: the cape scarf.  Because keeping warm can also look chic.

This Madewell Flecked Herringbone Cape Scarf has great style.  First, I love the black and ivory palette.  Second, the arm holes keep the cape on your shoulders without slipping.  It’s the best, and will keep you  warm for the whole flight.  And when you land at your destination, you can fold it in half and use it like a big scarf.

I wear mine over Lululemon leggings, a long black turtleneck sweater, and my Rothy’s flats.  Simple as that.

Any idea on the fit of this on a plus or petite person? Thinking about gifting a few, but I’m not sure HOW “one size fits all” it would be…

I love the idea of a cape but I have no idea how to wrap and style myself wearing one. Somehow I always seem to do it wrong and it ends up looking sloppy. Can you help me in a future post? I’d love to see the nuts and bolts of how to do this. Thanks for considering!

I have an older version from Madewell and love it! Second this recommendation!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
