Pants are my least favorite item of clothing. They can pinch and bunch and constrict. So if I’m raving about a pair of pants, they must be amazing.
I bought these Ann Taylor Wide Knit Pants during the last AT sale, and I am in love. They are as comfortable as leggings. The wide leg, higher-waisted style looks sleek when paired with a pointed toe heel or flat. And even after 12-hours, they don’t pinch or bind. These pants are also available in petite and tall.
Plus-size? Lane Bryant makes a knit pant in both a flare leg and a wide leg.

Do you tuck in your shirts with high-waisted pants like this? I have a lot of shirts that are made to be tucked in, but when I tuck them in to pants like this my torso looks disproportionately short. Any tips?

I think the disproportionately short torso/long legs look is intended/trendy/the point here, tbh.

Can you give some specific examples of shoes you’d wear with these pants? I am so used to cropped ankle pants that I feel like I don’t remember how to wear anything with a wide leg anymore. Pointed toe flats sound okay when it’s warmer out, but I’m not going to be happy going without socks or tights for too much longer and I can’t picture what shoes I’d wear then.

+1 on this request. After years of wearing ankle length pants, I feel at a loss with how to wear longer pants as the weather turns cold. Also, do you hem one pair for flats and one for heels?

I have some (now very old) J.Crew boots that rise just above the ankle, with a pointed toe and 3/4 inch heel that I wear with them now that it is cooler. These were the closest I could find in current boots:

I also like the look of these slightly longer/pointed-toe mens’-style loafer:

How do these compare to the stretch pointe pants from Amazon that you posted this spring?
RKT says:
I don’t have the AT pants, but I did buy the Amazon ones Belle recommended, and I love them. So much. I traveled to business meetings in NY in them last week, and that went so well that I decided to buy another pair – sadly, the black ones in my size were not available, but I ended up purchasing a couple of other pairs in the other colors, which I like. I do think they run a little small. I am a medium in almost everything, and I felt like they showed too many bumps in medium, so I went up to a large. I also wear them with flats, so had to have them hemmed.
The Amazon pants also have actual functional pockets, which these AT do not appear to. But I know some people don’t like the lines pockets create.
To Cait: I tend to either half tuck looser tops (in the front, not the back) or wear a more fitted top on top and then have it come down over the waistband to my hips. I have a large bust and short waist, so anything else looks like I am all chest…

I have one more that seems to be right on size, and one the is a little snug. I bought the first pair a while back, so I think that may explain the fit.

I can’t seem to find the Amazon version– can someone give more info about how to find them?

The MM.LaFleur Zhou culotte is also like wearing pajamas! I wasn’t sure about the silhouette at first but I’ve worn them once a week since I purchased them. It’s still a more modern/forward look but I’m alright with it! #pullingitoff

These arrived yesterday and I immediately planned today’s outfit (leopard long sleeve blouse, half tucked, with black point toe flats). As usual, Belle hit it right on the money. Thanks for the recommendation!
