Business Casual Meets Fall Transition

Jul 22, 2019

I know it’s not even August, but it’s time to start thinking about outfits that transition from summer-to-fall.  Why?  Because the new arrivals are about to be filled with blazers, boots, and sweaters.  So here is an outfit that mixes summer and fall pieces to create a business casual outfit with punch.

The original outfit comes from Cella Jane’s blog.  I love the way it blends the olive jeans (on my must list for fall) with crisp whites.  It’s professional with an undeniable freshness.  And it’s perfect for late August into October because it blends fall colors and patterns with the crisp whites of summer.

This blazer is Rag & Bone, and at $495, it’s a lift for most of us.  This Calvin Klein ruched-sleeve blazer and this Long and Lean washable blazer from BR are good mid-priced subs.  Plus-size?  This Eloquii one-button blazer is worth a look.

Underneath, a silk cami adds a hint of femininity and sophistication.  This Equipment washed silk cami ($100) is a nice option.  My current favorite is this Brooks Brothers cami at $88.  Need something under-$50, try this LOFT lace-trimmed cami.

Olive is my favorite color for fall 2019.  I’m buying olive pants, olive skirts, olive jackets, and olives for my dry martinis.  Okay, I buy the last one in every season.

These AG Prima jeans in olive are a great place to start.   Need something other than jeans?  These high-rise Cameron pants from J.Crew look amazing.  Plus-size?  These Land’s End straight-leg chinos and these Modcloth pants look great.

Layered pendants are a fun option.  I like this Lara Starburst Pendant ($138) and Mandala Pendant ($49).

If I were in the market for a new work bag this Kate Spade Margaux (in either large or small) would be my top choice.  I love that it doesn’t have hardware.   I adore the unique shape.  And the size and internal organization is designed for working women.

Lastly, my favorite leopard-spotted Rothy’s are on sale.  Instead of $145, they are currently $88, and available in almost every size.  Grab them while you still can.

Just went to the Rothy’s site and the leopards aren’t on sale? I’ve been desperate for a pair so wanted to snag them!

Cute look! Definitely want to try the white blazer.
Is there a promo code to bring the Rothys down?
