The Find: Metallic Flats

May 21, 2019

Every spring, I buy a pair of inexpensive metallic flats.  I toss them on to run errands.  I wear them to work before I put on my heels.  And I found a fantastic pair for this season.

This season’s sacrificial flat shoes is this cute, basic BCBGneration Millie Flat ($40) in rose gold.  They also come in a dark grey gunmetal shade.  If you prefer a yellow gold, these Talbot’s flats or Naturalizer flats are both nice.  Prefer silver?  These Vince Camuto flats are worth a look.

Metallic flats are a nice choice because they go with everything.  Why not buy a more expensive pair?  Because by the time the snow falls, they are thoroughly destroyed.  So I prefer to stick with a pair that I don’t have to mourn.

I have the Naturalizer flats and they are SO comfy! There’s a cushioned part to protect the back of your heel and the sole is really sturdy.

I had a pair of rose gold Geox flats that lasted me about three years. They were awesome and so comfy, but I haven’t been able to find them in that color again :(. For some reason, the right shoe did end up getting pretty banged up, but the left still looks pretty good.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
