The Find: A Dotted Blouse

Mar 5, 2019

I love polka-dots.  They’re cheery and fun without being overly girly.  Plus, black and white polka dots are the best polka dots, because you can wear them with anything.  And this top is perfect for bringing some dotted cheer to your work attire.

This dotted top from LOFT is fantastic.  Just $54, it will become a favorite to wear under blazers and sweaters.  The flow shape will be very flattering tucked into simple pencil skirts or slim pants.  And the flutter, cap-sleeve is a pretty little detail.

If you like dots, LOFT also has this Bohemian wrap blouse (in petite and plus) and a dotted jumpsuit (also in inclusive sizing).

I have a very similar blouse from J.Crew, purchased a handful of years ago. I’m happy to see it’s still “trendy”, and this is a reminder to pull it out of the back of my closet. Would love to see styling recommendations to keep it fresh.

Do these sleeves look unflattering on anyone else, or is it just me? I am an athletic build, 5’2 and somewhat toned. It made my arms look even larger.

    • MM says:

Yes! I have a similar build and I’ve learned to avoid these kind of sleeves like the plague. They look great on the model but always make my arms look terrible.

My dermatologist said there’s really nothing you can do for KP!

Polka dots are totally my thing. Loving this shirt.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
