My 10 Best Purchases: Number Two

Oct 16, 2018

Do you have a bra that you love?  In the second day of my ten best purchases, let’s talk about the bra that quickly usurped all of the bras that came before.

I bought this bra for Saw It On Social.  It didn’t seem like anything special, but it is.  And for $68 for a T-shirt Bra (or $15 off two), it should be.

You can read my original post from last April for more details on why I love ThirdLove bras.  The most helpful thing about the company is the Fit Finder Quiz that helps you find the perfect size and style for your individual needs.  And, if you try their bras and don’t love them, they’ll allow your to return or exchange them, no questions asked.

If you already love ThirdLove, check out their new cotton bras and underwear.  They look awesome.

I bought my first thirdlove recently, encouraged by your original post, and it’s great so far. Thank you!

I can tell these bras are high quality – but unfortunately I’m on my third exchange because the full coverage underwire feature on many of their bra styles comes up too high under my armpits and digs in/makes my armpits sore by the end of the day. Straps, band, and cup fit just fine – just a fit issue for my body. But I will say, their customer service has been great trying to find me a good fit for the money I spent 7+ months back and I appreciate that!

I had the same problem, and I don’t completely understand it – lots of my other bras are full underwire, but I found ThirdLove to be especially irritating. I had a friction hot spot by my armpit at the end of the day.

My go-to, somewhat embarrassingly for a grown woman, is Aerie. They’re inexpensive and are made of an extremely soft fabric. Their size range is limited, but they work for my 36Ds.

How are the straps on this bra? They look like they are lumpy/textured by design, which makes me think they will show up under t-shirts. Are they flat in person and just look bumpy in the photos?

Have to chime in that I, too, tried the ThirdLove bras, probably after your recommendation (and once they started carrying my size). I kept the 24/7, but it is a laundry-day bra for me. The cups just aren’t strong enough to support my G-cups; the cups crease/sag. The cups do come a little too far into my armpit, too (I have a short torso). I really wanted to love the racer-back version, but it had the same problems and went back. If others have the same problem, try the Wacoal La Femme and the b.tempt’d b.captivating (racer back). A comfy, yet supportive bra makes a world of difference in your day and how your clothes fit.

I really like this series, Abra!

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
