I love summer dresses. Pretty ones. Flirty ones. Basic ones. But sometimes, you just need a comfortable dress. A dress that feels more like loungewear. Meet, the Athleisure Dress.
On days when I don’t feel that good about my body. On days when I wish I could be wearing pajamas. On days when I need to look like I put in effort, but I am putting in zero. This dress is the dress.
I bought this Cloth & Stone dress ($98) three weeks ago. I’ve probably worn it eight times since then. Yes, it’s that comfortable.
The fabric is lightweight, but not see-through. The side vents keep it from being too hot on sweltering days. And the slouchy, relaxed cut of the dress makes it flattering and easy to wear. Did I mention it’s also machine washable?
I own the stripe. It also comes in a blue-grey color. I may buy it as well, but I saw it in person, and didn’t love it quite as much.
Dressed down, I wear it with a simple white sneaker and a ponytail. If I want to make it look a bit nicer, I add this dramatically-hued Kendra Scott pendant necklace in blue and a knotted gold Rachel Zoe sandal.

I’m loving this right now for the same reasons. Also — hides squishy middle. https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-linen-shirt-dress-black?collection=dresses
Can you please post a link to the Kendra Scott pendant?
Done.
Belle – I have an hourglass figure and find that dresses such as these make me look like a box. Any idea on how to prevent that or suggestions for dresses similar to this that wouldn’t give that affect?
@Jessica If you’re D+, try Bravissimo. The Diana dress from Boden is bust/waist friendly, but more of a tank maxi dress.
@Jessica (reply doesn’t seem to be working). I’ve had luck with Bravissimo and Boden. I feel your struggle avoiding boxiness!
