The Edit: The Most Incredible Bag

Apr 25, 2018

During a layover in the Seattle airport, I spotted another passenger carrying the prettiest hobo-style tote bag.  So, being a blogger, I had to know where she got it, how much it cost, what she liked about it, and basically give this poor woman the 3rd degree in the middle of the boarding area.  But, honey, was that bag worth it.

Sorry to keep you in suspense, but let me tell you what I love about the bag first.  I was initially drawn to the pinky-nude color, but what pulled me in was the chic fastener.  The style is a little bit equestrian, a little bit bohemian, but with this very modern vibe.  And when the woman told me who made it and what she paid for it, I couldn’t get to the Nordstrom website fast enough.

This glorious, sleek bag is the Hampton Hobo bag from Topshop.  And it comes in at a surprising affordable $65.

The bag is faux leather, but the material is so smooth, it doesn’t look or feel cheap.  The strap is adjustable, so you can get the perfect shoulder drop for you.  And the hardware feels more expensive than what you think you would find on a <$100 bag.

I’m usually wary of open top bags.  But this Topshop bag comes with a storage pouch that snaps into place to keep smaller items secure.  It also has a magnetic closure to keep any larger items from spilling out.

All in all, I am incredibly happy with this purchase.  The color is versatile with my summer wardrobe of navy, white, and grey.  It also looks great with black.  However, if you’re concerned about the versatility of such a deep pinky neutral, the bag also comes in black.

I LOVE THE BAG! Bless you for stalking the woman at the airport, its so rare to find a cheap + good looking bag!
But i’m feeling a little nervous about that pink shade, beautifully rosy though it is. Do you think its reading too trendy / millenial pink? Will it look dated next summer? (Does it already look dated?)

Ughhhhh, I WANT this bag. But in my “less is more” philosophy, I don’t need it.

    Sigh.

Beautiful AND affordable? I love it.

  7. MAGGIE says:

Is the strap long enough to wear it as a cross-body?

  8. Nonprofit says:

Could you post pictures of the interior of the bag?

I ordered the bag yesterday, can’t wait for it to arrive! I checked today and the pink is already sold out.

  10. […] few weeks ago, I posted a Topshop bag that has become my go-to casual tote, and you ladies went nuts for it.  And it got me thinking […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
