A faux wrap dress is a flattering and versatile choice for holiday parties. Whether headed to a friend’s dinner party or an office holiday soiree, a faux wrap is the perfect day-to-night option.
I love this Casey dress from MM LaFleur (also in plus-size), which was so popular it had a 1,400 person waiting list when it first launched. I own this dress and it is amazingly flattering. I’ve gained a bit of weight, and the faux-wrap top helps me conceal that. The dress is also really comfortable.
Looking for something more affordable? I own this Karen Kane faux-wrap dress (also in plus) in black. It’s also very flattering and perfect for work. It also comes in navy. Several readers mentioned how much they like this Chaps faux wrap that sells for a very affordable $59.

I have both the Karen Kane and the Chaps faux wrap dresses and I love them! The Karen Kane is great because you can adjust the neckline to be more revealing or conservative. The Chaps one is a bit fitted in the chest, so consider ordering up a size. Both are amazing buys!
I find that the ability to adjust the neckline is something I can’t control–maybe because I have a smaller chest? For me the neckline kind of has a mind of its own and wanders toward more revealing when I don’t want it to. And it’s gotten worse over time, the fabric seems to have stretched a bit, so I don’t wear the dress anymore. Just a heads up for smaller chested ladies. Too bad, because it’s a nice dress.
I bought two versions of this dress recently, and it’s become a “go-to.” https://www.macys.com/shop/product/charter-club-faux-wrap-dress-created-for-macys?ID=4369286
Fyi for other readers, the Casey dress is NOT suitable for petites, which is too bad. I’m 5’2″ and about a size 2p and it was long and huge on me. I wish mm lafleur had petite sizing.some of their styles work better than others but none fit the way they should on me. I have better luck with other brands.
