The Most Versatile Dress I Own

Jun 29, 2017

From bridal showers to sub-cocktail attire events to outdoor weddings, this dresses from Reformation are the way to go.  I wore this Sparrow dress last night to an event, and it was perfect.  I wanted something nicer than casual, but with a whimsy to it.  You can dress it up with a pair of simple heels, or you can dress it down with a pair of flat sandals.  You can add a belt, or go for a simple look with big earrings or a necklace.

This dress is the kind of dress where you say, “I don’t know what to wear…oh yea, that Reformation dress!”

Other dresses that fall into this category include this Callalily spaghetti strap dress, the Carina dress, and the Acai dress.  They all have the same dress up, dress down quality to them.  They’re just easy, throw on dresses that feel like so much more.  Nothing like a little easy glamour.

I don’t know what planet I’ve been on, but I’ve just discovered Reformation. I especially love their “bra friendly” section. I wish more companies did that.

  2. Crystal Canterbury says:

FYI, the Sparrow Dress link takes you to Reformation, but not the specific dress.

These are some cute dress options, but that slit! I don’t think I’d feel comfortable walking or sitting.

    • Emily says:

I’d just have a tailor sew the slit up a little bit so it’s not quite so high. I’ve done that on other dresses where that was the only thing I didn’t like.

  3. Erica says:

I LOVE the Callalily dress. Quandary, do you skip the brassier? I’m okay with that on vaca, but otherwise …

  4. Niki says:

Ugh. I LOVE this dress, but I do not have an extra $218 laying around. Gahhhh

  5. Katie says:

Belle, can I ask you how long the dress is? I am only 5’3” and am wondering exactly how long their floor length dresses run. Thanks!!

  6. Michelle says:

Hi, Belle. Can you comment on sizing for Reformation? Maybe you could give your measurements and what size that Sparrow dress is? I love it!! thank you!

  7. Joanna says:

Lovely dresses. Yumi Kim has some similar wrap maxis that fit well too.

The Find: Bright and Striped

For the past few years, the wardrobes of many influencers have tilted toward the beige and boring.  I’m all for a good basic, but staple pieces can only take you so far.  Sometimes, you need to wear something that has a little something extra, and this sale-priced tee certainly does.
