Just one post today.  My boyfriend brought home a cold and we’re both laid up.  So now I have to study contracts with a cold.  Because contracts isn’t bad enough on its own.

1) Five high-powered women discuss the dreaded work-life balance. (Crain’s)

2) Marks and Spencer is my new obsession.  This floral print a-line and pink combo dress are chic and under-$125.

3) Trump allegedly likes the women who work at The White House to “dress like women.” And then, a meme was born. (The Cut) (Racked)

4) This Halogen silk scarf and printed Kate Spade scarf would add zest to a work outfit.

5) 12 Pieces of Career Advice for My Younger Self. (The Stir)

6) I love this geometric print from Banana.  This poppy print has a soft femininity to it and a bit of color.

7) To be productive (instead of busy), practice being your future self. (HBR)

8) Amazon Prime Member? Save 20% on these chic cashmere Lark & Ro sweaters.

9) Four signs of a dysfunctional workplace you can spot in the interview. (Career Contessa)

10) This blush-colored, mesh swimsuit top is unique and adorable.

Those job warning signs are right on, and I am sadly speaking from experience. Keep your eyes peeled, job seekers!

  2. Anna says:

I think the Lark & Ro link might be wrong. It goes to a Lark brand mustard gold and black sweater with an eyelash texture, and nowhere is cashmere mentioned in the materials.

    • Belle says:

Of course it does. I fixed the link to go to one of the Lark & Ro sweaters, you can click the logo to see all. Or you can go to the Prime Deals page, and find it there.

      • Anna says:

Phew! I was really questioning your taste there, or my taste since you generally have much better taste.

        • Belle says:

Yeah, that thing was hideous. I’m wondering how many other readers thought I had lost my mind and started recommending sweaters inspired by deranged bumblebees.

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
