And we’re back.  At some point, there will be a post about Cuba.  Right now, I just need a water and the world’s longest nap.

1) Why your late-twenties and early-thirties can be the most difficult time in your career. (Women’s Agenda)

2) These Sam Edelman heels bring back the old-school Mary Jane with a mix of masculine and feminine.

3) How to use social media to get ahead in your career. (Harper’s Bazaar)

4) Pair this BR boucle sweater coat with this wine-colored shirt dress for the perfect cozy and chic combo.

5) Interested in taking a career break? Talk to this woman first. Also, the guide to hiring someone who took a career break. (Forbes; Management Today)

6) Make a statement, but keep it light, with this multi-chain Ben Anordmun bracelet.  So pretty.

7) The perils of sudden wealth, from loneliness to jealousy to bankruptcy. (BBC)

8) I love finding gifts that bring a little luxury into someone’s life. With some birthdays on the horizon, I’m looking at this luxe silk sleep mask, these geode coasters, and this Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist.

I’m in that late 20s/early 30s period of not knowing what to do next. I’ve been job searching, but I’m in a tough field in a tough market, and most of the moves I can more easily make are lateral salary moves. Sigh.

I haven’t read the article, but I’m definitely in the late 20s/early 30s slump. I’ve lost the initial push of the right out of college years where the possibilities seem endless, and I’m looking for that next step, but can’t quite decide the direction I want to go in. It seems with each subsequent career move, I’m going to get more and more pigeonholed.

  2. Sarah Shah says:

Thank you for sharing the article in Harper’s Bazaar about using social media for your career. As a teacher, I plan to share excerpts from the interview with my middle school students to raise their awareness of the power of social media.

  3. Lindsey says:

I was given geode coasters as a Christmas gift one year. They were beautiful but ultimately bad coasters. Water from condensation would just roll off the hard surface and onto my coffee table, ultimately leaving the exact water stains I was trying to avoid. Nice in theory, tragic in practice.

  4. Rose says:

Welcome back! I look forward to reading your post about the trip.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
