I wanted to thank everyone for sticking around during the “lost months” of May, June, and July.  During the crucial first semester of law school, I suffered a tremendous heartbreak that continued to plunge my life into chaos for the next year.

Because I was trying to focus on school, I didn’t have time to fully deal with it.  So I just scraped up the shards of my self, shoved them into a bag and kept going.  When school ended, I needed some time to unpack the bag and re-examine my future.

It feels good to be back.  We’re launching a whole new look and new features next week.  It’s also the blog’s 8th Anniversary.  Yipes.

Congrats on the blog-iversary 🙂 Life is all ups and downs. I’ve been through a lot of heartbreak and change over the past few years that has also left my life into chaos as you put it, and I did the same thing: put it in a bag so I could move forward and now the bag is full. But it’s been nice having a blogger whose content I look forward to reading and from whom I have learned a lot. I think yours is the only blog I don’t mind getting daily emails from in my coveted Gmail account 🙂 Wishing you all the best as you forge ahead!

This comment made my day. Thank you for putting a lovely, sympathetic sentiment into words. Belle, you have a lot of supportive readers that share Sara’s passion for your blog and well-being. You’re amazing. Thank you for this venue to share and support each other.

Yes! My sentiments exactly. Belle, warm thoughts as you move ahead! Can’t wait to see what’s new next week. Enjoy your weekend.

Sending good thoughts your way. Heartbreak of any kind is the actual worst. Cheers to 8 more years of one of the few blogs I still actually read and look forward to on a regular basis.

  3. Boden has a scalloped flat too. Different look, but still interesting for under $80: https://www.bodenusa.com/en-us/womens-shoes-boots/flats/ar763/womens-wave-ballerina-flats

  5. Jessie says:

You’re amazing, I look forward to your posts everyday. I didn’t even notice your ‘lost months’, and have heard balancing life with law school is challenging enough. Let alone one of the best, realest fashion blogs out there. Thanks again!

  6. Lauren says:

Belle, thanks for continuing to make this such a great blog. I can’t imagine balancing law school with this, then to add in significant emotional pain…I appreciate when you share those bits of yourself, and you should be very proud of all of your hard work. I lost my youngest sister last year unexpectedly, and it’s plunged my life into a chaos I don’t know will ever sort itself out. If you’re ever up for writing posts about coping skills and healing, I certainly would appreciate it. Thanks again for all you do, and I hope the future is full of joy and love and success for you, both personally and professionally!

  7. Anne says:

I hope all is well! Love the blog and wish you the best. Congrats on finishing law school!

  8. Chandra Graham says:

Your loyal readers will be here no matter what happens! Four years and counting for me….

  9. I am sorry to hear about your heartbreak. It is never easy.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
