Belle- have you ever tried the Paula’s Choice skin care line? I’ve seen it extolled on some other blogs and like the background of the concept, but I’m always scared to pull the trigger on a new regimen. You and I seem to have similar skin types, so I was curious if you had ever used it.
It didn’t really work for me. But I like the BHA liquid.
I love the ASOS white lace dress! Any readers (or, you Belle) have any insight as to fit and sizing of ASOS stuff? I’ve never bought anything from them. I’m usually a size 4.
It tends to run big, in my experience.
ASOS is a UK company, so their sizes generally run smaller than US brands. I suggest ordering one size up from your regular size; this has always worked out for me.

Number 1 sounds a bit like confirmation bias — women who spend more on their appearance make more money — but isn’t more likely that women who make more money have both the time and money to spend more on their appearance?
Exactly my thought as well. Basically, there are a lot of other factors here, and while these two things may often occur together (time and money into appearance, making more money), I wouldn’t assume one causes another. On the other hand, thank you for sharing Belle, it’s good to see articles here that cause more conversation!
I have been thinking about the concept of the first article so much lately. As someone who is moving into a higher level in my career and really trying to establish myself, is it okay to have an “off” day? Does it reflect poorly on me if I’m great at what I do, but my makeup/outfit/hair is off every once in awhile? I spend entirely too much time thinking about this, but I’m just so curious.
People don’t really notice an “off day,” maybe an off week. But everyone has an off day.

I went in to Sephora yesterday to get the invigorating night gel. The consultant I talked to noted a couple of important things. First, it is intended only for people who have *chronic* acne. Second, it is so acidic that it can *only* be used at night. Third, users **must** wear and reapply sunscreen throughout the day–otherwise the acid combined with the sun will swiftly lead to more acne and skin damage. This was the rare occasion that she didn’t try to get me to buy anything else, but After talking about my acne, she replied “you’re not at the stage you need this product yet.”
