1) Why some people are great leaders and others are not. (Inc.com)

2) Hello, gorgeous, cool Mango shopper bag in the perfect grey for spring.  How are you only $50?

3) Multi-tasking sounds great, but making time for deep work is what gets you promoted. (Fast Company)

4) Ann Taylor has 30%-off shoes and accessories.  These delicate ankle strap flats are perfect for work.  And their kitten heels are a staple of my wardrobe.

5) Executives used to marry secretaries, now they wed fellow executives, creating financial equality within the household. (The New York Times)

6) Need dresses for spring weddings? Rent, don’t buy.  I love this red floral-lace number from Cynthia Rowley, and this ice blue Marchesa.  For something really unique, try this cape sleeve shift.

7) Why stress makes your hair fall out.  Also, how much is your mom to blame for grey hair? (The Atlantic; The Cut)

8) Need to charge your phone on the go?  This chic Minkoff bracelet conceals a lightning cable for powering up.  This Ivanka Trump Rio tech sleeve stores and charges your devices.

9) How to handle awkward situations with your co-workers. (Levo)

10) Henri Bendel has some of the coolest fashion jewelry out there, and a ton of it is on sale.  This double ring is fun for going out.  I also love the texture on this Rox Candy ring in gold and grey.

11) Destinations for women traveling alone. (Elite Daily)

12) I am smitten with this cobalt Roland Mouret sheath.  For something more affordable, try this Julia Jordan cobalt stretch sheath for under-$100.

  1. Monica says:

This is one of my favorite quotes. That first step might be a doozie, but it’s the only way to move forward!

No 5 is fascinating to me, being a dual earner household with children where we both are similarly educated and even employed at the same company. I think a lot of the “static” about the wife making more, or having to do more work at home is going away, at least in my region (So Cal) because everyone needs to give everything they’ve got to make it work here. At least among myself and my (male) colleagues, the household partnership is fairly divided because when everyone works, no one should be expected to shoulder an exponentially greater amount of housework.

I work at work, I work at home, and we all win if everything gets done. I can see how if someone didn’t want to play nice it would end in divorce, but the smart couples aren’t going to sabotage themselves by being petty. I do make more than my husband, and I can’t imagine him thinking that means he can do LESS in any other aspect of our lives.

    • Anna says:

You’re a great example, but statistically while women’s responsibilities outside the home has increased, they still shoulder a lot of the domestic duties. Hopefully that’s changing, but I don’t think fast enough.

  2. Sasha says:

I have a question – is wearing white as a wedding guest no longer verboten? The ice blue dress looks very bridal gown-esque and I’ve noticed other dress recommendations elsewhere that also look bridal. For example, I was on the RTR site last week and they had a wedding guest dress feature – one of the dresses was a full length white Marchesa gown that seemed way more appropriate for a bride than a guest. I would probably stay away from white and very pale colors anyway because I don’t think they flatter me, but is there a shift away from avoiding white?

    • Belle says:

I think it’s going to be darker in person. I don’t think so, I’ve never seen anyone wear white to a wedding.

    • Anna says:

Some people ask their guests to wear white (thanks, Kardashians), and after the Royal Wedding there was an uptick in white bridesmaids dresses like Pippa. As a guest without specific instruction, I’d steer clear. I think pale colors are ok though.

  3. Jenn S. says:

I am also in a dual-earner household, but we do not have children. We both work roughly the same amount of hours per week, the numbers on our paychecks have no influence on, say, our division of housework. If I have to work more one week due to a project or something, he picks up the household slack and vice-versa. That’s what a partnership is. It’s such a shame that some people can’t come to grips with that.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
