State of the Blog: Midterm Crisis

Mar 1, 2016

Ladies,

It’s midterms week.  And my bar application is due in a few days.  Try tracking down school records, employment records, addresses, and traffic tickets when you grew up in a state where fax machines are still widely used.

Trust me, I’d rather be blogging.  My sincerest hope is that I will be back tomorrow.  I just have to survive my court hearing tomorrow.

Send vodka. xoxo, Belle

    Best of luck Belle!

  2. Anne says:

Fax machines are the bane of my existence. Whyyyyy does anyone still use them??

  3. Morgan says:

Bar apps are the WORST. Calling every municipal court along a specific highway to see exactly where I got that speeding ticket in college was not fun. Good luck!

  4. Jenn S. says:

Hang in there. I’m not entirely sure about the legalities of mailing alcohol from person to person across state lines, but I hope that you have some vodka on hand already.

  5. s says:

    good luck, belle!!

  6. Tech Writer says:

I look forward to every one of your red carpet rundowns, but law school and completing the bar application are more important. Thanks for letting us know.

Sending you mental vodka in the cocktail of your choice.

  7. Lexi says:

    Good luck!!!

  8. Leigha says:

Good Luck Belle! Word of advice on bar applications: if you’re taking more than one state in the future, definitely request 2 certified copies of everything other than your current driving record! It makes registering for the second state so much easier!

  9. Jennifer D says:

Greetings Belle – Best of luck on getting the State of Your Life in order. We’ll all drink some vodka for you! Cheers – Jennifer

  10. KaffeineKati says:

Just breathe baby!! You’re almost there…you got this!

  11. A says:

    Good luck,

  12. JA says:

If you haven’t already, I’d suggest running a public records search on Lexis (in the person search section) on yourself. It was really helpful both times I had to fill out bar applications. Good luck!

Happy Hour: Atlantic Beach Pie

There are two kinds of people in this world: People who eat cake on their birthdays and people who don’t.  And some of the weirdos in the latter category (I said what I said) eat pie as an alternative.  So if you’re a “birthday pie” eater with a late summer celebration coming up, may I […]

The Find: The Only Wire-Free Bra That Didn’t Fail Me

After Sloane was born, I developed a seething hatred for underwire bras.  The trouble was that I had also developed a larger, slightly droopier bust.  It was a cruel irony.

The 2010s Trends I’m Loving and Leaving Behind

Our tween and teen nieces spent the first half of 2023 reviving our high school fashions.  From peasant tops to low rises, I felt like I was back bopping to N’SYNC in my mint-green sedan for a minute.  Now, our 20-something direct reports are bringing back the 2010s in a big way, and I am […]

The Find: Bright and Striped

For the past few years, the wardrobes of many influencers have tilted toward the beige and boring.  I’m all for a good basic, but staple pieces can only take you so far.  Sometimes, you need to wear something that has a little something extra, and this sale-priced tee certainly does.
