1) Easy steps to upgrade your resume.  Because if they don’t notice your resume, you’ll never make it into the interview. (Refinery29)

2) The ‘clear the rack’ sale is on at Nordstrom Rack.  This Stella McCartney jacket and this DvF wrap dress caught my eye.

3) How to embrace your time being single and red flags to look for when you’re ready to start dating someone new. (Everygirl; Lifehacker)

4) The geometric print on this ASOS bandeau dress is just too good.  This short sleeve Prea dress also has a bold, graphic print.

5) The Sexist Aftermath of Appearing on Jeopardy!.  As a former contestant, let me co-sign this. (Broadly)

6) Looking for an affordable, chic watch?  Nixon has some great choices.  This watch in navy leather and rose gold is my favorite.

7) The ways women are sabotaging their career success stories. (Forbes)

8) Ulta is now stocking Tony Moly’s Korean skincare goodness.  Try my favorites, the Banana Sleep Pack and the Green Tea Sheet Mask.

9) The science of waiting in modern courtship, or why the three-day-rule might actually work. (Nautilus)

10) Anthropologie has 40%-off sale.  This red Evangeline sheath is perfectly sleek.  And this off-the-shoulder sweater is pure goodness.

11) All the goodies celebrities will take home in the 2016 Oscar Swag Bag. (Business Insider)

12) Case Factory makes the most stylish iPhone cases.  I’m not sure which I love more, this black and white haircalf or this pink crocodile.

13) Leslie Mann, the woman who has been making rom-coms watchable for two decades. (Rolling Stone)

14) If wear a plus-size, Eloquii should be your new go-to brand.  Look at this Erika dress and this slick Hartwood blazer, and tell me they don’t have the goods.

  1. Rory says:

Ugh, Eloquii makes me so mad. They do make some beautiful pieces but the details ruin it for me. So much of their stuff is made out of scuba fabric, which I don’t consider appropriate for the office.

  2. Betsy says:

I was on Jeopardy in 2001, before online commenting, and I got phone calls at home! Some pranks, some scams, one scary…it was totally bizarre. It never occurred to me that there would be so much internet attention these days…but it should have. Gross.

  3. LaReesa says:

You were on jeopardy?! I had no idea so many anonymous pervs watched it. The guy emailing from his work email that he’d leave his wife and kids? Blech. I would not take the high road there and forward his email to as many City of Santa Cruz employees I could find addresses for online.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
