Olive Jacket // Burgundy Coat // Cuff Bracelet // Beige Clutch // Cognac Boot // Grey Cardigan

Nordstrom is having a fall clearance sale filled with wonderful pieces that can fill your closet before the chilly weather starts in earnest.  Here are my favorites.

Coats. This olive utility jacket is great for late fall weather, and I love this burgundy coat with a wide collar.  This grey car coat blends the casual and professional.  This midnight navy Ellen Tracy coat is sublime.  Plus-size?  This Via Spiga coat is worth a look.

Accessories. This moonstone cuff bracelet is modern and feminine.  I also love these Rebecca Minkoff ear jackets with crystal accents.  For something truly unique, this Soko ridge cuff.

I also love this $32 scarf in a soft neutral with just a hint of print.  And if you’re looking for pretty hair accessories, this hammered-metal ponytail holder and this figure-eight barrette.

Handbags. This clutch is a great basic; it can also double as a storage pouch while traveling.  This Madewell cabernet tote is perfect for the weekend.  This Kate Spade is a feminine work satchel.  And I love this printed zip wallet.

Shoes. These boots are so incredible.  Every time I look at them, I love them more.  These pointed toe Ivanka Trumps are perfect for work.  I also love these suede ankle boots.  For a fun holiday shoe, try these Nine West shoes with a small bow.

Sweaters.  A drapey cardigan is the ultimate wardrobe workhorse — belt it for work or wear it open for casual events. This $30 cowl-neck sweater is perfect for casual wear and comes in several colors.  This Halogen sweater would look great with skinny jeans.  Plus-size?  I love this mixed-stitch cardigan in ivory.

Could you please link the cognac boots? They are so cute!

Wow, love the Charles David boots. Too bad they’re only available in 3 sizes now. I noticed some discounted Blondo riding boots on the Nordstrom website. They’re waterproof and looking pretty sturdy. Anyone have any thoughts on the Blondo brand?

I have a pair of Blondo boots that I really like. I first sought them out because they (at least this pair) have a very narrow shaft.

I’ve had my eye on that Cole Hann coat for a few weeks – it is available on Gilt today for $139

Yesterday, we chatted about not-see-through tees. Today, I want to talk about jeans. I am so grateful wide leg denim is back in a big way. And if you’re going to the office, you need a trouser style jean to see you through the week (or just casual Friday). Here are some favorites in different […]

The Find: A Miracle T-Shirt

Remember when clothes didn’t suck? The years were the late-90s and early-aughts. Jeans stretched a little, but were mostly cotton. Cashmere was soft and heavy and durable. Poly-blends were only sold at the giant teens stores on the lower level of the mall. And t-shirts were thick, not see-through, and wore like iron. Your first […]
