Hi Belle:
Love your blog. I’m looking for a one piece swimming suit for a pear body shape but I haven’t had much luck with it. They are either too loose on top or tight on the bottom. Any suggestions?

As a pear-shaped person, when I buy a one piece, I almost always buy one with a ruffle or some other decoration on top. It provides balance for someone who is larger on the bottom than the top.
Jessica Simpson Fringed Bikini ($106) // Laundry Ruffle One Piece ($38)
I like both of these suits because they aren’t over complicated. The fringe swimsuit at left is right on trend, and you can never go wrong with black. And this Kate Spade striped suit with an embellished top is pure fun.
Plus-size? Jessica Simpson’s fringe one-piece is also available in plus.
Lauren Mio One Piece ($102) // Tommy Bahama Pearl Halter ($128)
Another option, if you’re struggling to find a suit that fits on top is to try an adjustable halter style or a halter with molded/underwire cups.
The suit on the left offers a bit of adjustment thanks to the tied halter style. The suit on the right has a lightly padded, molded cup that might offer a better fit. The neckline also draws the eye up.
Love halters? This palm-printed VS suit is still one of my favorites. And this H&M suit? Totally adorable.
Becca Crochet Tankini Top ($78) // Polo Summer Stripe Top ($69)
Still not finding a suit that fits? Try a tankini. You can buy a bottom and top separately to ensure fit, while getting the coverage of a one piece. I like these summery suits for a fun option.
Looking for something cheaper? I like this printed Athena suit and this vintage-inspired CoCo suit.
