10 Stylish Pieces from the Shopbop Sale

Apr 7, 2015

It’s time for the Shopbop 25-percent-off sale (code SPRING25).  It’s a great time to stock up on chic baubles, casual basics, and pieces to add a bit of flair to your work wardrobe.  Here are my picks for the best pieces from the sale to get you ready for summer.

Velvet Ziggy Dress ($128)

I own this dress, and it’s fantastic.  The side vents keep the dress comfortable on hot days.

Calvin Klein Satin-Trim Robe ($75)

I like to take a robe with me when I travel, and this short robe from CK is perfect for that. It’s also more stylish than a shapeless, white cotton robe.

Gorjana Paige Earrings ($40)

I featured these on the blog a while ago, but they sold out before some of you could snap them up.  Luckily, they’re back in stock and as fab as ever.

Club Monaco Lizeth Dress ($198)

This dress is a classic sheath with modern details.  It could be great for work or dinners out.

Bop Basics Twill Pencil ($150)

A pencil skirt with a wide waistband? Bless you, Shopbop.

Helmut Lang Sonar Jacket ($395)

I bought this jacket a few months back, and I have worn it more than I ever imagined I would.  Wear it over workout clothes for a chic topper, or add a strong belt and wear it to work.  It comes four colors.

Steven Vienna Metallic Sandals ($89)

Simple, elegant, perfect for summer weddings or with jeans.

Tbags LA Short Sleeve Blouse ($163)

This top would be really fun with jeans and a long necklace.

DvF Julian Two Wrap Dress ($398)

I own this dress in one of her signature prints and I adore it.  If you’re concerned about it being to revealing, go up a size.  You can always cinch it tighter at the waist, but the extra fabric keeps your chest covered.

Club Monaco Suzanne Shirt ($160)

I like the shape of this shirt.  The sheer details are nice too.  Add a cami to keep it appropriate for work.

Styling question about the ziggy dress. I have a very, very similar dress I bought online through GAP last summer. I am petite at 5 feet so I had the dress altered in length. My question is that I am struggling with how to style the dress so that it doesn’t look frumpy. The dress is not tight. I have some curves. What might be a good size belt? I thought about a jean jacket or scarf to go with it but am not sure. I do have a pair of gold sandals. I am wondering if there is a put together look for a casual Friday that could then be adjusted to go out in the evening for a casual setting? I welcome your thoughts. Thanks so much!

I generally hate when people complain about the skinniness of models, but my word that model for the DvF Wrap Dress looks positively unhealthy. O_O

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
