Happy Hour: It’s Going to Be Meyer (Lemon)

One of my favorite cocktails is served at Poste in D.C..  It offers flavors of lemon and basil.  I’m hoping for something equally magical from this rosemary and lemon cocktail from Design Sponge.  Though I’ll have to swap the gin for vodka (stupid allergies).  With herbal and citrus notes, this cocktail is perfect for the transition between winter and summer.

Asos True Violet Bardot Pencil Dress ($106)

Yellow is a hot hue for spring.  This Asos dress gives a bit of the sunny color with a glamorous, Old Hollywood look.  For cocktail, I also like this yellow, lace shift from Topshop and this sweetheart strapless dress from eDressMe.

Looking for something more casual?  This Gap fit-and-flare sundress (also in petite) is affordable and fun.  This yellow Kensington dress from Boden is fab.  This yellow-printed dress from Boden (also in petite) is also fantastic.

Plus-size? This printed peasant dress from Tahari is a great piece.  I also like this cap sleeve dress for summer weddings.

Happy Hour

That dress is absolutely gorgeous – so sad that it’s completely sold out… what I wouldnt do for it!

  4. Becky says:

Belle, do you think that dress is appropriate for a wedding, given the amount of white? I have such a hard time with deciding on that issue.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
