Ask Belle: Shoes for Spring/Summer Weddings

Mar 16, 2015

With the change of seasons, there are a lot of Ask Belle e-mails in my box that I want to cover this week.  Not every post will be a reader query, but many of them will be.

Dear Belle,

Help! I’m the matron of honor for an evening in late-May California wedding(think: mountain, outdoorsy, lace, a bit southern style) and the bridesmaids are wearing short navy dresses all the same color, different styles.

We need shoes! Wedges preferred, nude color, but no canvas style heels as that’s a bit too casual. We’re open to some metallic as well. Under $80 please!

Thank you!! Matron Mal

For spring and summer weddings, I like to stick to flesh-toned shoes and metallic shoes.  I know this will be a topic that applies to many readers, so I’d like to expand upon this question for all the ladies who are headed to weddings this summer and don’t want to spend a fortune on footwear.

This post will cover shoes that can be worn to warm-weather weddings, indoor or outdoor, casual or cocktail.  All choices are under-$100.

    Love these options! Thank you!

  4. MM says:

Love these wedges from JCrew Factory. Go well with my pink undertone skin. I am 7.5 – 8 and went with an 8. Perfect bare legged, a bit slippery with hose at that size.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
