Cute boots! Just throwing it out there, but Avenue has awesome cognac wide calf and extra wide calf boots.

  2. The leather on the Charles David pair is beautiful! The only problem I have with brown boots is that I find it hard to pair them with other brown accessories because every shade of brown is just slightly different. I have a similar pair of brown boots to what you have above, but I bought them several years ago in a dark brown color that was in then. Now I can’t find any accessories to pair with them because a lighter brown like this is in style. Sadness.

I just got the women’s york riding boot in cognac from Payless because they come in extended calf. They are really comfortable and only $50 if anyone is looking for a cheap option.

  4. If you can find me boots for narrow calves that are tall and in cream color, I will forever be indebted to you! I had one, threw it out because the heel broke( i know stupid me) and now cannot find a replacement ( been 4 years). welp?

    • If you have any non-cream recs I’d take those too please!

If you can afford it, you might want to consider going custom. I needed to do that for my opposite problem of massive calves and got a pair of flat boots from Poppy Barley. It’s a lot of money, but they’re really well made and very comfortable, and will last for years. I’ve been wearing mine for about a month. They are the best boots I’ve ever owned, and they fit right. They have a camel color, which might be more yellow than you’re after, but it can’t hurt to look. Good luck.

I don’t work for them, but have become a huge fan since another poster mentioned them here in April. (Thanks, Belle and Brittney.)

I am also struggling with a grey pair of ankle boots and my grey tights because they are not the same grey (and I have been seriously hunting and coming up cold). Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions? Have a good day!

    • Monica says:

Yes! I have a great grey short boot that I thought I could pair with grey leggings, tights etc. And the grey is a little too taupe to go with most knit greys. I’m sad…

  6. Nony says:

Yay for riding boots weather! I love the color of those Charles David ones. I finally found comfortable riding boots that my smaller calves don’t swim in. Of course I bought them in both brown & black.

Belle, you need to tell the WORLD about this: https://www.whowhatwear.com/how-to-make-heels-comfortable/

I did it today and my feet have NEVER felt better.

  8. . says:

Just pointing out that the wide calf option you linked to, actually has a smaller calf circumference than the paid intern option. You’d be better off with a boot like the Sam Edelmen Penny in wide calf since those actually run 15+ inches

  9. SJ says:

Huge fan of the Sam Edelman Penny boot: https://tinyurl.com/ofoam9z

  10. Teri says:

Does anyone (Belle or otherwise) have suggestions for a good cognac-colored shoe polish/cream? I have a beautiful pair of boots I got last year, but they’ve become more than a bit scuffed since then and I’d like to give them some TLC. Thanks in advance!

  11. Randi says:

Just ordered the Enzo Angiolini pair- thanks so much Belle! I was just about to email and ask for a pair of cognac-colored boots with a small calf circumference and minimal detailing for less than $150.

  12. Sam says:

FYI, bought the Enzo pair and they were HUGE in the ankles, so I’m returning.
