It’s almost bake sale time, and if you need a recipe that will wow, may I present Salted Caramel Brownie Sandwich Cookies from Donna Hay.  They combine the perfect crunchy-fudginess of a brownie with the sweet-saltiness of caramel filling.  They’re a bit labor intensive, but they’re totally worth it.

AG Distressed Legging Jeans ($215)

Distressed jeans are hot this fall.  I found this pair from AG at 6pm.com for $70, and they’re awesome.  (Still available in size 30.)  I also like these lightly distressed jeans from DL1961.

Need something for under-$100?  Start with this pair from Kensie Jeans and this pair in a medium-dark wash from !iT Collective.  You can also find a $50 at J.Crew Factory, and this $32 pair from Old Navy.

Plus-size? Try these James Jeans for the ‘boyfriend’ look, or these Blue Faith jeans for just a hint of distressed denim.  Petite? These WHBM jeans are worth a look.

Happy Hour

Donna Hay is the very best thing from “down under” Her food is earthy and elegant. Glad to try this cookie.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
