I may be ready for football and fall fashion, but I am not ready for hot cocktails and cider-scented drinks. This sour cherry gin and tonic from the PBS Fresh Tastes blog is a good bridge between the summer and fall. The herbal flavors of the gin, the sourness of the cherries, the brightness of the lime, this cocktail is bound to be a winner.
Speaking of transitions, I really want a pair of casual ankle boots with a 2″-3″ heel. As much as I love my flat, tall boots, I’m ready to shake things up a bit. These Nordstorm booties are a good choice. I also like these Victoria’s Secret boots that come in several colors. These Vince Camuto boots have a narrow heel and a slightly dressier look, but they’re still pretty chic.
Prefer suede? These Sole Society boots are a good choice. And these Enzo booties with a perforated cuff are pretty cool.
Like the heel, but want a tall boot? These Isola boots are lovely in a medium-tan leather, and these Dolce Vita boots have a bit of Western inspiration to them.

How would you wear the booties, especially to work? I can never figure it out, and I’d love some tips!

Agree. I can never quite figure out how to wear these, especially with jeans. Skinny, legging type jeans? Bunched up above the boot? Over part of the boot?

Idk if this will help you, Anna, but here’s what I do (I’m sure Belle has better ideas): I like to do a skinny cuff on my straight leg skinnies (usually about 1-1.5″) and cuff it a few times so it stops just above the top of the bootie. With my jeggings, I tuck those in. Hope I don’t find out these are faux pas! 😉

Mostly being facetious. Happy friday!

Just because some Republicans believe something, doesn’t mean all Republicans do. Just because some Democrats believe something, doesn’t mean all Democrats do.

I was all excited to buy those BP Andover booties (esp since my hometown is Andover, MA!) but then read the 6 reviews. All of them but one mentioned how utterly uncomfortable the booties are. I can’t bring myself to spend that much on shoes that will hurt me. Sigh.
